Our Herb Garden

IMG_2735I've always wanted a herb garden, but since this isn't our "forever" house, I knew I had to get creative.   I wanted to keep with the rustic-modern feel of our house, but how was I going to do it?  I had rustic planters, so that part was easy.  But the modern part was a challenge.  Then it hit me.  We had a vintage Steelcase cabinet in the garage!  Bam.  I knew I was onto something.  Not only would I have a space for my herbs, but I'd also have a place to store my gardening tools.  Perfect.IMG_3012-3IMG_3009-2IMG_3007l IMG_2736-2 IMG_2734 IMG_2725Overall, I'm extremely happy with the end result.  Now, I'd love to know how you display your herbs...or if you have any advice for keeping lavender alive!

  2. I have my herbs in pots. If you cut the basil back right above the second set of leaves it will grow shorter and wider. The same thing with the rosemary, the more you cut herbs the better they grow :) It looks like your doing a great job!

  7. If you find out how to keep your lavender alive, please let me know! Mine died. Total bummer. As for my herbs; they sit in a cedar box. I have thought about growing them in pots next year. We'll see. Yours look lovely, btw!!
