About two weeks ago, Ryan had a business trip planned for New Orleans. Now, if you know me or have followed us for anytime, you know New Orleans is pretty much my favorite place...EVER.
The food, the history, the architecture...what's not to love?
So naturally I wanted to tag along. However, with a newborn flying was out of the question.
After a lot of thought, we decided to go for it. I would drive down to the Big Easy with the kids and meet Ryan.
A ten hour road trip with a three week old and a three year old was no walk in the park, but it was so worth it!
The kids and I had a great time! Unfortunately, it rained for most of our stay so I had to think outside of the box for fun, kid-friendly things to do.
The top of our list? Beignets! At Cafe Beignet, of course. This was a huge hit with Mila! But really, anything with sugar is.
Next on our list was Mardis Gras World! Now, if you've never been here, I suggest you make a trip A.S.A.P!
This is where all of the Mardis Gras parade floats and statues are stored. Bad ass. It's located right off the pier and so full of culture. I loved it and so did Mila!
We also spent quite a bit of time enjoying the rain at our hotels courtyard. I know, that doesn't sound to interesting, but seriously, it was beautiful!
And lastly, we did what every tourist does and went to Cafe Du Monde. There's no such thing as to many beignets ya know.
We had such a wonderful time and I'm already dying to go back. This was definitely a trip I will never forget!
